My Weekend

Sorry, mom and dad and others who may read this every day...it was a busy weekend and I didn't find the time to update my life as you know it!

Friday
Work was great! I had a few meetings, projects to do, new people to meet, papers to hand in, e-mails to write, and a wonderful lunch of leftover stirfry to eat. I got off work right at 5 and still had a bounce in my high heeled shoes as I walked back home. I relaxed on the couch and watched some TV...and then Chad called.
I won't say much, but that we're taking a break for a while. It was about 2 years ago that we first started dating and with our busy and very different lives, it's best for us right now not to be together, I guess. So that started my friday afternoon. I hooked up my printer and ate popcorn for supper :)
The evening consisted of hanging out with the guys upstairs and watching a weird movie. We couldn't go out because two of us are not yet 21...(movies may be our friend while everyone else goes out later in the semester.) I fell asleep beside Ang on the couch during the movie and then after it we capped our night off with some sleep.

Saturday
Early (10am) a friend of our dropped off some boxes that Pam and I sent to her over Christmas. She lives in a shadier area of the city and thought it best to just drive our boxes over instead of us taking the train and bus over to her house. That was great....early, but awesome. Pam and I unloaded our boxes and then realized that we could both use more sleep, so we went back to bed for a few more hours. Woke up at 1, worked out, came back, ate, then Pam and I went to find the nearest Plato's Closet consignment store to drop off some clothes. We took the train and walked through the snow and wind to find the place. It was busy...and only took 2 of my shirts! picky picky. I can still get money for a lot of that stuff in Sioux Falls! Maybe I'll send the bags back to Dordt. By the time we got out of Plato's closet it was around 5 so we looked for a cheap place to grab some supper. We both saw a sign on the train for $3.49 sandwiches at a place called White Hen. Hey, sounds good, so we found a white hen along the way back to the train station. Now, we both though it would be a Subway-type restaurant where we could sit inside and get out of the cold. We walked in, and it was a convenience store with no tables or chairs...just racks of convenience food. Well, we didn't want to eat on the red line so we asked if there was a place in the store where we could sit and eat our food. The girl/guys at the counter said we could pretty much sit anywhere...and the manager suggested the beer boxes right at the front of the store :) So we maneuvered the boxes around to make two seats for Pam and I. She did get a picture with her phone, so maybe that will get passed on to me sometime. It was another little adventure (and the store employees thought we were nuts.) Oh yah, that's when I bought a coffee in those disposable paper cups with the white plastic lids...like Tim Hortons extra large to go cups, but way better quality..anyway, I managed to slip (steal?) a few (10) of them in my bags. So I scored that day. I paid more than 6 bucks for my meal AND Walgreens charges almost 5 dollars for medium sized cups, so maybe that justifies it?? The store had piles of cups. and I'm a needy student.
Pam and I got back around 6 or so. We got settled a bit and then went upstairs to the guys' room to play a game with a bunch of us. Catch Phrase, Pit and another one. Very fun, and extremely intense!
We were in bed a little earlier that night.
